DESCRIPTION:When designing systems\, it is useful to understand the people
who will be using them. Cognitive psychology provides a helpful perspecti
ve\, characterising aspects of the human mind\, such as attention\, memory
\, perception\, learning and problem-solving. In this lecture I will discu
ss some of these aspects and how being aware of them can help us design mo
re usable interfaces. I will illustrate each topic with examples of usable
  and problematic designs.
