DESCRIPTION:The ability to control the molecule/crystallite orientation of
  “semiconducting” molecules is on the one hand a prerequisite for opti
 mizing organic device performance while\, on the other\, it is necessary f
 or unambiguous determinations of their physical properties. With examples 
 from sexiphenyl (6P)\, sexithiophene (6T) and pentacene (5A) we will discu
 ss the means of obtaining thick organic films with various unique crystall
 ine orientations and then use them to investigate the intra- and inter-mol
 ecular band dispersion in crystalline organic films.
