DESCRIPTION:As part of Sustainable Food Month we are hosting a panel discu
 ssion asking ‘How can we create a future of sustainable food?’  \n\nWe
  are delighted to be joined by four fantastic experts\, whose research and
  interests cover the broad spectrum of topics on ‘food sustainability’
 .  Florence Best\, third year geographer\, will act as Chair and provide a
  short introduction to the topic.  The panel members will each provide a s
 hort statement on the topic\, which will be follow by questions from and d
 iscussion with the audience.  \n\nPlease come and join the discussion and 
 feel free to ask questions.  We would love to see a few of you there!\n\nO
 ur panel:\n\nDr David Nally\nDavid is senior lecturer in human geography w
 ith interests in the history of famine and the role of American philanthro
 py in shaping global agricultural change.  His comments to the forum will 
 focus on the issue of problematization - that is how we discuss\, frame an
 d orientate our thoughts and practices on the question of 'food sustainabi
 lity'.\n\nEmma Garnett\nEmma's PhD research investigates which interventio
 ns work to reduce the environmental impact of diet through behaviour chang
 e.  This project spans the natural and social sciences as well as public h
 ealth and behavioural psychology.  More generally\, Emma is interested in 
 understanding how to overcome economic\, social and psychological barriers
  to sustainable resource use.\n\nBev Sedley\nBev is the chair of charity C
 ambridge Sustainable Food\, a network of public\, private and community or
 ganisations in Cambridge and the surrounding area\, working to promote a s
 ustainable local food system.  The organisation works on several food proj
 ects\, including a Sustainable Food Pledge for Businesses which engages lo
 cal businesses in sustainability commitments.\n\nKirsten Van Fossen\nKirst
 en comes from an engineering background and is currently a PhD researcher 
 in the Centre for Industrial Sustainability investigating how entrepreneur
 s build out businesses that contribute to more sustainable food systems.  
 She will speak about how institutions can serve as incubators for small bu
 sinesses that are passionate about sustainable food.\n\n
