DESCRIPTION:Most models of selection assume very simple demographies\, whi
ch often fail to capture the complexity in the real world. Structured popu
lations are the norm in most organisms\, and the level of structure greatl
y affects how localised selection is. The effect of structure can also aff
ect diseases\, as well as the selective response to the hose. In this talk
\, I’ll discuss work on modelling realistic demographic history that can
be used to study localised selection\, with the specific example of disea
 ses as drivers.
