DESCRIPTION:Join the CGHR Salon this Thursday for a discussion on the UK P
arliament\, war and Syria. The discussion will be led by Dr Hayley Hooper
and Dr Veronika Fikfak. In their forthcoming book\, they shed light on the
way successive Governments have limited the engagement of Parliament in t
he decision to 'go to war' by strategic use of procedural motions\, by sel
ective timing of parliamentary engagement\, and by monopolising secrecy un
der the guise of a range of necessity arguments. This week's discussion fo
cuses on how the Parliament and the Government have made decisions regardi
ng the UK's involvement in the on-going conflict in Syria.\n\nFor backgrou
