DESCRIPTION:Professor Carol Brayne has been leading community based studie
 s of older people for 30 years. In this presentation she touches on what s
 uch studies are and how they contribute to our understanding of dementia.\
 n\nCarol Brayne is a Professor of Public Health Medicine and Director of t
 he Cambridge Institute of Public Health in the University of Cambridge. Sh
 e is a medically qualified epidemiologist and public health academic. Her 
 main research has been longitudinal studies of older people following chan
 ges over time with a public health perspective and focus on the brain. She
  is lead principal investigator in the MRC CFA Studies and other populatio
 n based studies and has played a lead role in teaching and training in epi
 demiology and public health at Cambridge University. She is a Fellow of th
 e Academy of Medical Sciences and a NIHR Senior Investigator.\n\nPart of C
