DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will present recent numerical results on the
end point of the ultraspinning instability of Myers-Perry black holes in 6
dimensions. This instability gives rise to a sequence of concentric rings
connected by ever thinner segments of black membrane. The black hole pinc
hes off in finite asymptotic time\, resulting in a violation of weak cosmi
c censorship in higher dimensional asymptotically flat spacetimes. While t
he self-similar nature observed in the instability of black strings is los
t in the asymptotically flat setting\, the approach to pinch-off very clos
ely follows a scaling law with a universal factor.
