DESCRIPTION:The great push in the 2010's of biology has been the developme
nt of a cellular atlas that aims to create a detailed gene expression map
of a single cell in every tissue and determine the molecular events that l
ead to their development or deregulation in disease.\n\n Recent advances h
ave made it possible to quantify transcriptomes of thousands of cells in a
single experiment. Techniques for profiling a wide range of epigenomic fe
atures in single cells have also been developed\, which when combined with
RNA sequencing from the same cell are powerful methods for understanding
the regulatory mechanisms underlying cell fates.\n \nThe speakers will dis
cuss Drop-Seq\, a method for shallow sequencing of thousands of single cel
ls as well as recent updates to single-cell bisulfite technology which all
ows simultaneous profiling of DNA methylation\, chromatin accessibility an
 d gene expression.\n
