SUMMARY:Solving Reproducibility: Cross-pollination between Biochemical sci
ences and Computer Sciences - Clayton Rabideau\, University of Cambridge

DESCRIPTION:The capacity of research to produce scientific advancements an
d impact society is reduced by a glut of irreproducible experiments. In US
  biological sciences alone\, irreproducible research is a $28 billion/year
problem. While Computer Sciences have developed a number of tools in rece
nt years to combat this irreproducibility until recently it has been impos
sible to use them for biological and chemical sciences research. This talk
will give an overview of the potential of automation in biological and ch
emical sciences\, and how CS researchers can improve the impact of their w
ork by integrating digital technologies into automated biochemical workflo
 ws.
