DESCRIPTION:The intra-cluster medium (ICM) of galaxy clusters shows a weal
th of hydrodynamical features that trace the growth of clusters via\nthe i
nfall of galaxies or smaller subclusters. Such hydrodynamical features inc
lude the wakes of the infalling objects as well as\nthe interfaces between
the host cluster’s ICM and the atmosphere of the infalling object. Furt
hermore\, the cluster dynamics can be\ntraced by merger shocks\, bow shock
s\, and sloshing motions of the ICM. Additionally\, the prominence of each
of these features is\nmodified by transport coefficients in the ICM\, i.e
.\, its viscosity and thermal conductivity.\nI will give an overview of ou
r recent work on understanding and deciphering such traces of cluster grow
th\, regarding both the\ngrowth history of clusters as well as transport p
 roperties of the ICM.\n
