DESCRIPTION:Professor Fitzpatrick is primarily a historian of modern Russi
 a. Much of her work has focused on Soviet social and cultural history in t
 he Stalin period\, particularly everyday practices and social identity.  S
 he received a Mellon Foundation Distinguished Achievement Award in 2002 an
 d the American Historical Association’s Award for Scholarly Distinction 
 in 2012. She is past President of the Association for Slavic\, East Europe
 an and Eurasian Studies (formerly AAASS) and a member of the Australian Ac
 ademy of the Humanities and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She
  has authored\, edited or co-edited 20 books\, most recently _On Stalin's 
 Team: The Years of Living Dangerously in Soviet Politics_ (2015). A fourth
 \, revised edition of her classic short history _The Russian Revolution_ i
 s forthcoming in September 2017.
