DESCRIPTION:In Text Simplification\, we attempt to make texts more accessi
 ble to different target audiences.\nOnce a niche task with sparse contribu
 tions coming up every year\, Text Simplification\nis now an ever-more-popu
 lar task due to a recent influx of new data and resources from research an
 d industry.\nWe present an overview of how lexical\, syntactic and hybrid 
 Text Simplification approaches have evolved throughout the years\,\nhighli
 ghting modern solutions. We also discuss what lies ahead with respect to o
 pen problems and research opportunities\,\nproviding with a comprehensive 
 guide to useful data and tools that can be employed in future work.
