DESCRIPTION:Detecting and monitoring disease outbreaks and epidemics using
  publicly available information sources (social media\, blogs\, news\, for
 ums\, etc.) brings with it many technical challenges. In this talk\, I wil
 l focus on the geographical aspect of information retrieval\, outline the 
 main hurdles and present a new computational method\, which has been accep
 ted to http://www.acl2017.org. I will also talk about some applications of
  this knowledge in future work. Some knowledge of computational linguistic
 s is required to make the most of this talk.
