DESCRIPTION:Monzo is a new\, digital bank based in the UK with a full bank
 ing\nlicence. With our own technology\, we are building a retail current\n
 account in-house\, from the ground up. We strive to provide the best\nuser
  experience and security for our customers\, whilst abstracting\naway any 
 complexity. Transparency is also important to us - we hope to\nshare infor
 mation and data about the financial crime we see in the\nwild and the secu
 rity trade-offs we are making.\n\nWe will present a series of short lightn
 ing talks to give an overview\nof the challenges we are facing whilst buil
 ding a bank. This will be\nfollowed by an informal Q&A.\n* Secret storage:
  banking requires a number of keys which must\nsimultaneously be available
  to production systems and stored securely.\n* PIN delivery: end-to-end en
 cryption to the customer’s device can\nprovide a secure delivery mechani
 sm for PINs.\n* Fighting financial crime: regulation provides a starting p
 oint for\ncombating financial crime - in addition to this we use real-worl
 d data\nto develop effective countermeasures.
