DESCRIPTION:RoCK blocks were an important tool in proving Broue's abelian 
 defect group\nconjecture for symmetric groups that was proved in two paper
 s\n(Chuang-Kessar\, Chuang- Rouquier). Turner then generalised this to fin
 ite\ngeneral linear groups. I will talk about my own work on RoCK blocks f
 or\nother finite classical groups and the hope that RoCK blocks also exist
  for\ndouble covers of symmetric groups.
