 eumann algebras. There exist currently two sources of examples of bicommut
 ant categories: unitary fusion categories\, and completely rational unitar
 y conformal field theories. <br><span><br>I will give a general introducti
 on on what and why bicommutant categories are. Then I will talk about a re
 cent result with Dave Penneys: Morita equivalent unitary fusion categories
  have isomorphic associated bicommutant categories.</span>
