DESCRIPTION:This seminar presents results from a large-scale\, multi-phase
 d\, mixed-method research that seeks to examine young people’swellbeing 
 in Kazakhstan. In the first part of this seminar Dr. Daniel Torrano\, Dr.R
 os McLellan and Dr. Liz Winter will put forward a statistically ratified m
 odel of psychological and overall wellbeing\, which has been developed ove
 r several phases of fieldwork in Kazakhstan\, in order to prompt a discuss
 ion of its strengths and limitations. The second part of the seminar will 
 be presented by Dr. Eva Brown Hajdukova who will reflect on the emergent t
 hemes of young people’sdiscourses on wellbeing in order to expose the fa
 ctors young people perceive to be important in their lives. The combined a
 pproaches of large-scale and detailed analyses will be the central focus o
 f this seminar in order to promote an integrated approach to representing 
 and assessing young people’s wellbeing that combines both sensitivity an
 d overall validity. From 2015 the Faculty of Education and Nazarbayev Univ
 ersity Graduate School of Education have partnered to examine young people
 ’swellbeing and school engagement in secondary schools in Kazakhstan. Fu
