DESCRIPTION:The University of Cambridge was founded in the 13th Century by
  refugees from the “Other Place”.  The origins reflected the continuin
 g battle between “Town and Gown”.  In the intervening period\, between
  foundation and present\, members of the University were also heavily invo
 lved in matters of State.\nThe talk will give a brief outline of affairs o
 ver 800 years.\n
