DESCRIPTION:Developments in high resolution\, live cell microscopy have op
 ened opportunities for characterizing mechanisms of transcription factor c
 hromatin interactions and transcriptional regulation in vivo in real time.
  These approaches show the nucleus as a highly dynamic environment\, with 
 factors exchanging on regulatory elements on time scales of seconds. We ai
 m to integrate findings from these new approaches with the wealth of data 
 from genome wide studies to understand mechanisms of transcriptional regul
 ation on the molecular scale.
