DESCRIPTION:The premotor theory of attention argues that covert\, visuo-sp
 atial attention depends on motor programs. My talk explores associations a
 nd dissociations between covert attention and oculomotor control to argue 
 that premotor theory is true only for reflexive ‘exogenous’ shifts of 
 attention.
