DESCRIPTION:In this seminar I will introduce some of the basic ideas and c
 oncepts of networks theory and discuss their connection to complexity\, an
 d relevance to several fields of science. I will present some of the dynam
 ical models of network formation\, and survey recent results that help us 
 to understand better the fragility of a network with regards to random fai
 lure and their resilience when under different types of attack.
