DESCRIPTION:Biography:\nDr Haruhiko Koseki is currently Group Director of 
 Laboratory for Developmental Genetics at RIKEN Center for Integrative Medi
 cal Sciences (IMS) and Deputy Director of the Center. After he obtained hi
 s M.D. and Ph.D. from Chiba University\, he was appointed Assistant Profes
 sor in 1990 and then Associate Professor in 1997 at School of Medicine\, C
 hiba University. While holding the position of Assistant Professor\, he wo
 n one of the competitive Long-Term Fellowship from the Human Frontier Scie
 nce Program Organization and did his postdoctoral research at Max Planck I
 nstitute of Immunobiology in Freiburg\, Germany. In 1998 he was appointed 
 Professor at Department of Molecular Embryology\, Graduate School of Medic
 ine\, Chiba University and joined RIKEN in 2001.\n\nResearch:\nThe Develop
 mental Genetics Research Group is pursuing a research program to elucidate
  the epigenetic regulation of organ development and stem cell functions by
  Polycomb group (PcG) proteins and DNA methylation mechanisms.\n\nMain Res
