DESCRIPTION:Software development is more than just programming. We need to
think a bit more widely about the lifetime of our code\, how we plan a pr
oject\, and the way we interact with other people. \n\n* Can we make it ea
sier for others to join a project? \n* Is the code maintainable for years
to come?\n* How can we distribute it?\n\nMany of these points are highly r
elevant to commercial software\, but have often been ignored by academics.
\nIn this interactive and informal seminar\, I intend to address some of t
hese issues. \n\nAs this is a lunchtime talk\, please bring your sandwiche
s with you. Tea and biscuits may be provided (subject to availability).
