DESCRIPTION:Research can often involve collaboration with people in other 
 departments or universities. For example\, we might create research softwa
 re or write papers with others. \n\nIn this talk\, I introduce various sof
 tware tools designed to facilitate such collaboration. I build upon Mark W
 illiamson’s previous talk on the git revision control system by consider
 ing how to use git with online repositories to develop code collaborativel
 y. I also discuss some tools that can help us write papers with others (e.
 g. slack\, overleaf\, git with latex).
