DESCRIPTION:Given a symplectic manifold M\, a Lagrangian submanifold is a
maximal (co-)isotropic submanifold L in M. Lagrangian submanifolds play a
central role in symplectic topology mainly because they provide a fruitful
approach to study symmetries of symplectic manifolds. The aim of the talk
is to introduce this tool -Lagrangian Floer theory- starting from the Arn
old's conjecture and hopefully I will get some time to talk about the Lagr
angians I deal with in my research.
