DESCRIPTION:Nonlinear waves travelling under an elastic sheet are consider
 ed. The fluid is assumed to be inviscid and incompressible and the flow to
  be irrotational. The sheet is  modelled by using the theory of Plotnikov 
 and Toland. The problem is solved by boundary integral equation methods an
 d series truncation approaches.  Periodic waves\, solitary waves and gener
 alised solitary waves are considered.  Special attention is devoted to asy
 mmetric waves. Time dependent solutions are also presented.
