DESCRIPTION:What do you do when your DNA is broken? Call for repair. The c
ell needs a healthy DNA so to faithfully read instruction carried in our g
enes. Our DNA daily undergoes physical damage as we interact with the envi
ronment. The cell has evolved a fascinating system made up of proteins tha
t signal and repair broken DNA. My work\nfocused on the two protein enzyme
s called ATM and ATR. I was hoping to get more functional insights by stud
ying the molecular architecture of ATM/R using the electron microscope. In
my talk I would like to share with you my latest findings.
