DESCRIPTION:This is joint work with S. Donkin. The Specht modules are key 
 players in the representation theory of the symmetric groups. If the chara
 cteristic of the field is different than 2\, it is well-known that they ar
 e indecomposable. In characteristic 2 there exist decomposable Specht modu
 les but only a few families of such modules have been discovered. In this 
 talk I will present some new families of decomposable Specht modules and d
 escribe their indecomposable summands.
