DESCRIPTION:If research findings are to impact the world\, they need to be
shared effectively. Dr. Rankin will\nshare her findings from a quantitati
 ve study and a meta-study of over 300 studies that she\nsynthesized as a s
et of data reporting standards shown to increase an audience’s understan
ding of\nviewed data by up to 436%. Others can follow these standards to b
est share and display research\nfindings and other data. Dr. Goldfarb exem
plifies how scientists can proactively share research\nfindings with diffe
rent audiences. Dr. Goldfarb will visit us virtually from the European\nOr
ganization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva. He will take us on a vir
tual tour of the\nfacilities where he and colleagues used the Large Hadron
Collider to smash particles together\nand discover – for the first time
  – proof of the Higgs boson\, an elementary particle in the\nStandard Mo
 del of particle physics.
