DESCRIPTION:Protein misfolding and aggregation into amyloid fibrils occurs
in a variety of human pathologies\, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson
’s diseases\, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis\, and diabetes type II. \nIn
this masterclass\, known structures of amyloid fibrils\, and detailed ins
ights into protein aggregation kinetics in vitro will be discussed\, highl
ighting the biophysical methods that are commonly used in such studies.\n\
nTalks will focus on protein misfolding and aggregation in a biological co
ntext. Taking yeast and C. elegans as examples\, the speakers will present
the use of model organisms to address the relationship between protein mi
 sfolding and disease.\n\n
