DESCRIPTION:In this talk we will discuss some new techniques in linear cry
 ptanalysis\, that can improve the bias of linear approximations. These tec
 hniques can also create some new kinds of linear approximations\, that wer
 e hard to find previously. When used in attacks\, these techniques can red
 uce the complexity of some known attacks. In particular\, they improve ove
 r Matsui's attack on DES.\nThis is a joint work with Stav Perle.
