DESCRIPTION:What’s new in FlyBase\nI will present an overview of new fea
 tures and tools in FlyBase\, with the aim of\npromoting their utility to r
 esearchers. Recent additions include: report pages for\nfunctionally relat
 ed genes and Drosophila models of human disease\, improved\northology data
 \, short summaries (‘snapshots’) of gene function\, and the JBrowse\ng
 enome browser. The upcoming "FlyBase 2.0" release will contain several mor
 e\nenhancements\, including: new graphical summaries of functional data\, 
 protein domain\nvisualization\, and faceted searching/hit-list management.
 \nI will also give a brief introduction to the Gene2Function website and (
 upcoming)\nAlliance of Genome Resources website\, which both integrate dat
 a from multiple model\norganisms and humans.\nFlyBase curators will be ava
 ilable after the talk to give demos and answer specific\nqueries.\n
