 atar Systems*</u>\n\nSince the invention of the telephone\, a wide range o
 f tools have been created to help humans communicate with one another over
  great distance. However\, despite all these seemingly clever inventions b
 usiness travel is at an all time high. This is due to the fact that existi
 ng face-to-face (F2F) collaboration tools to not adequately mimic being to
 gether in person. \n\nThis talk will explore an alternative to traditional
  F2F tools - the use of telepresent robots as physical avatars. We will lo
 ok at existing physical avatar systems and discuss how their design requir
 ements are unique compared to more traditional collaborative systems due t
