DESCRIPTION:Time\, space\, matter\, particles\, field\, observer\, system\
, substance... all the basic notions of the elementary grammar of our unde
rstanding of the physical world are put into question\, and modified\, by
the current research in quantum gravity. I discuss this momentum change\,
how compelling are its motivations\, and the novel worldview I believe is
emerging: a coherent picture of the world where "time" and "space" and "ob
jects" are not among the primary notions anymore.
LOCATION:Bristol-Myers-Squibb Lecture Theatre\, Department of Chemistry.
