DESCRIPTION:We are joined by Christopher Lynch\, Principal Transport Plann
 er at Crossrail 2. The new proposed cross-city\, underground\, line in Lon
 don has gained significant momentum with the route now proposed as Cheshun
 t (Cambridge to London Liverpool Street line) and Epsom (South Western Rai
 lway). The line shall be building on the success of Crossrail\, a new line
  which has employed tens of thousands of graduates. It shall be an excitin
 g and interesting talk about the planning of the line\, it route and propo
 sed construction. You heard it first at the CURC!\n\n \n\nMixed audience\,
  from many different subject areas. All welcomed to come.\n\n \n\nThe talk
  is followed by a Members Formal at Sidney Sussex College - places are FRE
 E to new student members\, usually £10\, and are strictly limited. Please
  email the CURC for further details.\n\n \n\nThe presentation\, Q&A sessio
 n open to the floor and dinner is a perfect chance to talk to Dr Dix about
  plans for Crossrail 2\, or even specific graduate opportunities in the de

 \nFounded in 1911 from the Cambridge University branch of The Railway Club
 \, the CURC is the second oldest railway enthusiast club in Britain! The C
 URC tries to arrange an event in Cambridge every week during Full Term. On
  most Wednesdays or Fridays this involves an invited speaker giving an ill
 ustrated talk on a specific subject\, and this is almost always a professi
 onal from the rail industry or preservation. We’ve had big names in the 
 past\, including senior managers from several Train Operating Companies.\n
 \nWe also visit railway sites termly including depots\, signalling centres
  and industrial railways for members.\n\nWe give you a chance to meet the 
 top employers from across the industry and have huge success in our member
 s going onto top Graduate employment within the railway industry…whether
  HS2 \, Balfour Beatty\, Crosscountry\, Network Rail\, DfT etc…\n\nMembe
 rship for students costs £10 per year or £25 for life membership. You ca
 n pay an annual membership now and upgrade to life later – and life does
  mean life. We charge £3 at the door for non-members\, upon your third en
 try to a talk (first two talks are free). So come and try us out for free\
