DESCRIPTION:Shannon sampling theory is at the heart of classical informati
 on theory\, as it establishes the equivalence of continuous and discrete r
 epresentations of information. I present results on the generalization of\
 nShannon sampling theory to quantum fields that live on curved spacetimes\
