DESCRIPTION:The Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) provides a c
onsistent formalism to parametrise the effects of heavy new physics appear
ing as deviations from SM expectations. On of the key goals of the LHC leg
acy will be to cover this parameter space as much as possible and contribu
te to a global fit of the EFT parameter space and\, hopefully\, provide hi
nts on the nature of physics beyond the SM. To this end\, precise predicti
ons for all observables of interest in the SMEFT are required\, both at fi
xed order and for Monte Carlo event generators interfaced with parton show
ers.\nI will present recent developments in this direction\, focusing on e
lectroweak Higgs production mechanisms and relevant dimension-6 operators
as well as several processes connection Higgs\, electroweak and top physic
s\, both at next-to-leading order in QCD. The issue of EFT validity will b
e discussed alongside some LHC sensitivity studies. We provide a public mo
del implementation that can be interfaced with existing Monte Carlo event
generators including a complete (non 4-fermion) set of flavor symmetric op
erators obeying minimal flavor violation. \n
