DESCRIPTION:*Abstract*: In general your body is fairly good at using pain
to communicate that harm is being caused. Unfortunately\, the discomfort f
rom Repetitive Strain Injury only really occurs after the cumulative traum
a from certain repeated actions exceeds a certain threshold (these particu
lar actions do not cause any pain before the threshold is reached). clicki
ng a mouse is the most common example of such a problem. In general\, prev
enting the build up of this trauma is far more effective than attempting t
o treat the RSI once problems have occurred. This talk aims to demonstrate
ways to reduce the impact of repeated computer use\, with little or no pr
oductivity compromise. It is aimed at people currently experiencing no dif
ficulties using computers\, and aims to help you to stay difficulty free f
or the rest of your life.\n\nAfterwards\, I will happily talk on a more pe
rsonal level about more extreme measures that may be required to help thos
e who are already suffering difficulties.
