DESCRIPTION:In organic photovoltaics\, usually combination of two molecula
r materials is used as active layer. After excitation one of these materia
ls acts as electron donor and the other as electron acceptor. \nPhotons th
at are aborbed by these layers can be converted very efficiently into char
ge carriers collected at the electrode at zero bias voltage(efficiency >50
%)Molecular materials generally have a low dielectric constant (relative
dielectric constant 3-4) and it is not obvious how the photogenerated elec
tron is separated from the hole against the Coulombic attraction. In this
seminar I will discuss spectroscopic studies aimed at clearifying the orig
in of the high short circuit photocurrent in organic photovolatics. \n
