DESCRIPTION:Professor Alan Fenwick is the founder of Schistosomiasis Contr
 ol Initiative (SCI)\, a charity that works to eliminate debilitating tropi
 cal diseases. With its strong track record and outstanding cost-effectiven
 ess\, SCI is one of the best charities in the world\, as evaluated by Give
 Well and Giving What We Can. SCI has been supported by the Bill and Melind
 a Gates Foundation.\n\nSchistosomiasis is a parasitic disease that leads t
 o chronic ill-health and affects more than 200 million people in developin
 g countries\, 85% of them in sub-Saharan Africa. Evidence shows that dewor
 ming cheaply and effectively improves health\, and is one of the most effe
 ctive ways of increasing school attendance. The treatment comes at less th
 an 50p for a pill.\n\nJoin us for an evening with Prof. Fenwick to hear fr
