SUMMARY:Learned predictiveness and cue processing in human learning - Dr M
ike Le Pelley\, School of Psychology\, Cardiff University

CONTACT:Marie Dixon
DESCRIPTION:Recent experiments have demonstrated that\, just as in studies
of animal conditioning\, human contingency learning is influenced by cue
processing mechanisms. That is\, the processing resources devoted to learn
ing about a given cue seem to depend on our prior experience of the predic
tiveness of that cue. This talk will use a number of recent of human learn
ing experiments to illustrate properties of this cue processing mechanism.
