DESCRIPTION: I discuss the determination of the fragmentation functions (F
 Fs) of light charged hadrons from a wide set of single-inclusive electron-
 positron annihilation cross section measurements. Specifically\, I focus o
 n the recent effort made by the NNPDF collaboration\,\nusing a methodology
  based on Monte Carlo sampling of experimental uncertainties and neural ne
 tworks for parton parametrisation. \nI discuss the quality of the NNPDF de
 termination\, including its stability upon inclusion of higher-order corre
 ctions\, and some of its implications in the description of the hadron spe
 ctra measured at the LHC.\n\n
