DESCRIPTION:The clockwork mechanism is a means of naturally generating exp
 onential hierarchies in theories without significant hierarchies among fun
 damental parameters.\nIn this talk\, I will review the role of interaction
 s in the clockwork mechanism\, demonstrating that clockwork is an intrinsi
 cally abelian phenomenon precluded in non-abelian theories\, such as Yang-
 Mills and gravity. I will also show that clockwork is not realized in extr
 a-dimensional theories through purely geometric effects\, but may be gener
 ated by appropriate localization of zero modes.
