DESCRIPTION:Professor Queloz is one of the pioneers in the search for exop
 lanets. In 1995\, he discovered the first giant planet outside the solar s
 ystem together with Michel Mayor\, leading to a series of new techniques a
 nd breakthroughs in exoplanet hunting. He also played an active role in th
 e Corot mission\, which led to the first transit detection of a rocky plan
 et (Corot-7b). Professor Queloz is now a physics professor at Cavendish La
 boratory and Geneva University\; he leads a comprehensive research program
 me on the formation\, structure and habitability of exoplanets in our univ
 erse.
