DESCRIPTION: Two four-dimensional manifolds are said to be CP2 - stably di
 ffeomorphic if one can take connected sums of either manifold with copies 
 the complex projective plane\, with either orientation\, after which they 
 become diffeomorphic.  I will explain how to classify manifolds up to this
  relation.  I may also discuss the closely related question of stabilisati
 ons with copies of S2 x S2.
