DESCRIPTION:Together with colleagues at Northumbria University\, Newcastle
  upon Tyne\, we focus on developing novel inorganic solar cell technologie
 s. In particular\, we have made recent progress with two very different te
 chnologies: high performance InAs/GaAs quantum dot solar cells for concent
 rating photovoltaics and solution processed Cu2ZnSn(S\,Se)4 nanoparticle i
 nks. The former is a collaboration with the Cavendish Laboratory (SP Group
 )\, NPL and Nanyang Technological University while the latter is a core co
 mponent of our involvement in the EPSRC-funded North East Centre for Energ
 y Materials. In this talk\, I will provide an overview of the technologies
 \, scientific challenges and our contribution to their development.
