DESCRIPTION:Efforts to improve care for serious paediatric and neonatal il
 lness in Kenya’s district hospitals have evolved over more than a decade
  and in parallel with shifting attention from research on ‘what to do’
  to research on ‘how to achieve changes at scale’. Complementary strea
 ms of work spanning development of evidence-based national guidelines\, co
 ntextually appropriate training and job aides and measurement and feedback
  have helped shape changes in professional norms facilitating adoption of 
 better practices at scale. More recently work has evolved to include key a
 ttributes of learning health systems and research that may help shape the
