DESCRIPTION:ADHD has traditionally been conceptualised as an early onset c
hildhood disorder but we are increasingly recognising that there is consid
erable individual variation in onset and developmental course of symptoms.
In this talk I will present the results of a series of studies in a long
itudinal community-based cohort of youth who provided ADHD data in 9 waves
from ages 7 to 17. The talk will ask whether we can define clinically us
eful developmental subtypes of ADHD defined by symptom trajectories (e.g.
late versus early onset)\, whether there are sex differences in ADHD sympt
om trajectories\, and what factors can account for variation in trajectori
 es across individual
