DESCRIPTION:Signatures comprising large missing transverse energy (MET) ar
e powerful probes of\ndark matter at the LHC. Corresponding searches requi
re a precise control of relevant\nStandard Model backgrounds. In this cont
ext\, recent advances in perturbative\ncalculations open the door to signi
ficant sensitivity improvements. In my talk I\npresent a combination of st
 ate-of-the-art calculations for all relevant V + jets\nprocesses\, includi
ng throughout NNLO QCD corrections and NLO electroweak corrections\nsupple
mented by Sudakov logarithms at two loops. Particular attention will be\nd
evoted to the estimate of theoretical uncertainties in the framework of da
rk matter\nsearches\, where subtle aspects such as correlations across dif
ferent V + jet\nprocesses play a key role. A resulting control of these un
certainties at the percent\nlevel allows for unprecedented sensitivity in
 the monojet dark matter search\nchannel.
