DESCRIPTION:We are joined by Philippe Mouly\, Chief Operating Director of 
 Eurostar.\n \nEurostar is the only high speed train that directly links th
 e UK to France and Belgium via the Channel Tunnel. Since 1994\, Eurostar h
 as more than doubled the total number of passengers travelling (whether by
  air or train) between London and Paris and Brussels. \n \nThe trains reac
 h a maximum speed of 300km per hour (that’s 186 miles per hour) on the h
 igh speed lines in the UK\, France and Belgium. With regular journey times
  of 2 hours 12 minutes between London to Paris and 2 hours 1 minute betwee
 n London to Brussels. \n \nPhilippe is responsible for delivering the enti
 re operation and no doubt shall provide a most interesting and engaging ta
 lk on the company. \n \nThe talk is followed by a Members Formal at Sidney
  Sussex College – places are only £10 and are strictly limited. Please

 ambridge University branch of The Railway Club\, the CURC is the second ol
 dest railway enthusiast club in Britain! The CURC tries to arrange an even
 t in Cambridge every week during Full Term. On most Wednesdays or Fridays 
 this involves an invited speaker giving an illustrated talk on a specific 
 subject\, and this is almost always a professional from the rail industry 
 or preservation. We’ve had big names in the past\, including senior mana
 gers from several Train Operating Companies.\n \nWe also visit railway sit
 es termly including depots\, signalling centres and industrial railways fo
 r members.\n \nWe give you a chance to meet the top employers from across 
 the industry and have huge success in our members going onto top Graduate 
 employment within the railway industry…whether HS2 \, Balfour Beatty\, C
 rosscountry\, Network Rail\, DfT etc…\n \nMembership for students costs 
 £10 per year or £25 for life membership. You can pay an annual membershi
 p now and upgrade to life later – and life does mean life. We charge £3
  at the door for non-members\, upon your third entry to a talk (first two
